Twenty years ago, my life changed forever when my dad died by suicide.

Like many suicide loss survivors, I spent years navigating grief, questions, and the complicated journey of moving forward while carrying a loss that never fully leaves you. Over time, I discovered something powerful: healing doesn't mean forgetting. It means finding ways to continue living with purpose, connection, and hope.

Finch & Fern was born from that belief.

What started as a creative outlet with polymer clay and a love of handmade artistry became something much more meaningful. Each piece I create is a reminder that beauty can emerge from difficult seasons, that growth is possible after loss, and that small acts of creativity can bring light into someone's day.

The finch symbolizes joy, resilience, and hope. The fern represents strength, renewal, and the ability to thrive even in challenging conditions. Together, they reflect the values at the heart of this business.

Many of my designs are simply meant to make you smile. Others, including my semicolon collection, carry a deeper message of hope and mental health awareness. The semicolon has become a symbol of choosing to continue your story when it could have ended, a message that is deeply personal to me.
